C40 Traffic Impact Bollard

ASTM C40 P1 Rated Bollard

Engineered and independently tested to meet the ASTM C40 P1 Standard and designed to meet the ASTM F2656 storefront requirements, these cost-effective 6″ security bollard barriers are designed for bi-directional stopping capability. One properly installed single standalone bollard is engineered and designed to stop a 5,000 lbs. vehicle at 30 mph impact with less than 24″ of vehicle penetration, which makes it equal to or greater than the S10, S20 and S30 standards.

Permanent or Removable

The Traffic Impact Bollard is available in both permanent and removable options, with both options distributing exceptional stopping power making it an ideal application for storefronts, schools, and other pedestrian-friendly areas. If you’re looking to add more protective signage to your storefront, Bollard Sign Systems are available as well.

Set & Pour installation

Set a single prefabricated steel bollard in excavation and pour in the concrete (no rebar in the foundation). There is no need to worry about tying, bolting, welding, assembly, or specialty subgrade, as it is not required. The bollards are one single unit with a lifting pin.

Cost Effective

These Traffic Impact Bollards are cost-effective as the bollards have an unrestricted spacing limit and can also be field adjusted. The design simplifies installations that have turns and grade elevation changes, all while using a standard bollard.

Bollard Covers for a Clean Finish

Once installed, you’ll want to cover the C40 with a Bollard Cover. You can use a 6″ Cover, or get an insert to use 8″, 10″ or 12″ Covers. Choose from our Standard and Decorative Covers. The Standard 6″ Schedule 40 Bollard Pipe beneath the cover can be Bare, Galvanized, or Primed (Red Oxide, Yellow or Gray).

Note: Galvanized should not be painted. It doesn’t hold paint.

(The C40 Bollard in the crash picture above has the 6″ Skyline Decorative Bollard Cover.)
